Our director, Tara Thompson, organized the South Shore Ice Dragons adaptive and inclusive ice hockey team as a place for her children and their friends to be able to fully participate in hockey practices and hockey games without being overwhelmed by the size and demands of larger and more traditional teams. She was equally determined to create a team that would be fully inclusive- meaning that all players could participate in all events regardless of ability or use of adaptive equipment. Determined but seeing the limited choices in available teams, she decided to start her own with a focus on inclusion, belonging, and community. 

You can find her almost every Sunday at the Hobomock Arena in Pembroke, MA.
